Job summary

Orica is seeking Underground MCU Operators to join our Cadia operations. You will operate MCUs, load explosives, assist with blast prep, perform pre-start inspections and ensure safety and site compliance.

This permanent, full-time role offers a 7/7 roster with FIFO and DIDO options, travel, accommodation and meals provided, and opportunities for training and long-term career development within our global business.

Qualifications

• Experience in underground mining environment.
• Ability to operate heavy mobile equipment safely and efficiently.
• Strong commitment to health, safety, and compliance practices.
• Ability to follow procedures and work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Proactive and reliable approach to work.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain Underground Hard Rock Licence (UHL).
• Must pass pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol screening.
• Must obtain satisfactory National Police Check.

Responsibilities

• Operate Mobile Charging Units (MCUs) and associated equipment safely and efficiently.
• Load and deliver explosives underground in accordance with site procedures.
• Support blast preparation and charging activities.
• Conduct pre-start inspections and basic equipment maintenance checks.
• Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
• Work collaboratively with site teams to achieve production targets.
• Contribute to a positive team culture and continuous improvement initiatives.

We are looking for Underground Operators / MCU Operators to join our team supporting operations at Cadia, NSW. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity on a 7/7 roster, offering both FIFO and DIDO options, with travel, accommodation, and meals provided. As an Underground Operator, you\'ll play a key role in delivering safe and efficient blasting services underground. Working as part of a close-knit team, you\'ll operate Mobile Charging Units (MCUs), load explosives, support blast preparation activities, and ensure work is completed safely and in line with site requirements. Whether you\'re an experienced MCU Operator, Underground Operator, or come from a similar underground mining background, Orica offers ongoing training and development opportunities to help you build a long-term career within our global business.
