Job summary

Orica at Cadia, NSW is seeking Underground Operators / MCU Operators to join our team on a 7/7 roster with FIFO and DIDO options. You will operate MCUs, load explosives, and support blasting activities, ensuring safe execution and adherence to site procedures.

You'll be part of a close-knit team, with ongoing training and development opportunities within our global mining business, offering travel, accommodation and meals where applicable.

Qualifications

• Experience working in an underground mining environment.
• Ability to operate heavy mobile equipment safely and efficiently.
• Strong commitment to health, safety and compliance practices.
• Ability to follow procedures and work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate Mobile Charging Units (MCUs) and associated equipment safely and efficiently.
• Load and deliver explosives underground in accordance with site procedures.
• Support blast preparation and charging activities.
• Conduct pre-start inspections and basic equipment maintenance checks.
• Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
• Work collaboratively with site teams to achieve production targets.
• Contribute to a positive team culture and continuous improvement initiatives.
