Job summary

Heidelberg Materials Australia is seeking a self-motivated Quarry Operator to join Kilmore East Quarry. You will operate heavy machinery, carry out day-to-day operations, and perform general labour tasks to support quarry production.

The role emphasises safety, teamwork, and reliability, with a Monday–Friday roster, overtime possible, and ongoing training within a global materials group.

Qualifications

• Solid interpersonal and communication skills.

• Experience operating heavy machinery and working in quarrying/mining environments.
• Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team.
• Relevant operating experience with heavy equipment; heavy tickets not required.

Heidelberg Materials Australia is one of the country's leading suppliers of heavy building materials to the construction industry. We produce aggregates, including crushed rock, sand, gravel, and road base from a number of locations across Australia.

We are currently seeking a self-motivated and enthusiastic Quarry Operator to join the team at our Kilmore East Quarry.

This is a full-time position with overtime and weekend work according to business needs.

In your new role with us, you will:

• Carry out the day-to-day operation and maintenance of various vehicles, plant, and equipment.
• Operate heavy machinery, including excavators, front-end loaders, and dump trucks.
• Perform general labouring activities, including cleaning, hosing, and shovelling.
• Contribute to the safe and efficient operation of the quarry.

• Experience operating CAT 990/992 loaders (advantageous).
• Articulated dump truck and rigid haul truck experience (preferred).

• Heavy machinery tickets are not required; however, relevant operating experience is essential.
• Previous experience in quarrying or mining.
• The ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team.
