Pacific National in Rockhampton, QLD, is looking for an Operations Superintendent to lead safe, efficient rail operations across multiple sites in Queensland. You will manage a team of around 50 staff and four direct reports, with accountability for performance, safety and continuous improvement.

An opportunity has presented itself for an Operations Superintendent to join our team in Rockhampton, QLD.

What You’ll Do

Lead and manage safe, efficient and high-performing multi-site rail operations across key Queensland locations.

Reporting to the Regional Manager Queensland and northern NSW, you will:

• Lead the overall performance of the Rockhampton, Gladstone and Mackay terminals
• Rail corridor responsibility from Maryborough West to Mackay.
• Provide leadership to a team of approximately 50 employees, including 4 direct reports.
• Ensure all sites operate in line with our safety-first approach while meeting operational and performance targets.
• Develop and implement strategies to drive continuous improvement across safety, culture and operational efficiency.
• Build strong relationships across geographically dispersed and remote worksites.
• Provide visible and accessible leadership within a 24/7 operational environment.

What You’ll Bring

• Demonstrated experience leading large operational teams, ideally across multiple or remote sites.
• Strong people leadership capability with the ability to build a collaborative, respectful and high-performance culture.
• Proven ability to drive positive cultural change across safety and performance.
• Highly developed communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience operating with full accountability and the ability to work autonomously.
• Flexibility to support a 24/7 operation.
• Rail industry experience is advantageous.
