Job summary

Pacific National is seeking a proactive HSE Advisor to join our Queensland HSE team based in Gracemere. The role focuses on coaching leaders, driving continuous HSE improvements, and embedding risk management across multi-site operations.

You’ll lead risk assessments, investigations, and training while supporting PN’s strategic HSE initiatives. The ideal candidate has tertiary qualifications in Health & Safety, and 5+ years’ experience in safety across rail, logistics or mining environments.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Health & Safety or a related discipline.
• Proven experience delivering HSE outcomes across multi-site operations.
• Experience coaching leaders and facilitating incident investigations.

Responsibilities

• Partner with operational leaders to strengthen HSE capability and safety leadership.
• Facilitate risk assessments and monitor effectiveness of critical controls.
• Support delivery of PN's key HSE strategic initiatives.
• Build workforce capability in hazard identification and risk management.
• Contribute to audits and compliance assurance activities.
• Lead investigations in line with PN's framework.
• Deliver training on PN's enterprise management system and HSE applications.
• Travel to regional Queensland sites as required.

An excellent opportunity has become available for a proactive, solutions-focused HSE Advisor to join our Queensland HSE team based in Gracemere.

As part of our national HSE business partnering team, you'll play a pivotal role in coaching leaders, driving continuous improvement, and embedding effective risk management practices across our operational environment. This position is well-suited to someone who thrives in a hands-on role, enjoys building capability, and is passionate about delivering meaningful safety outcomes.

What You'll Do

• Partner with and coach operational leaders to strengthen HSE capability and safety leadership.
• Facilitate risk assessments and monitor the effectiveness of critical controls.
• Support the delivery of Pacific Nationals key HSE strategic initiatives.
• Build workforce capability in hazard identification and risk management.
• Contribute to audits and compliance assurance activities.
• Lead and facilitate incident investigations in line with PN's investigation framework.
• Deliver training on PN's enterprise management system and HSE applications.
• Travel to regional Queensland sites as required.

What You'll Bring

• Tertiary qualifications in Health & Safety, Occupational Risk, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience delivering effective HSE outcomes across complex, multi-site operations.
• Strong working knowledge of safety and environmental requirements within rail haulage, logistics or mining (ideally 5+ years).
• Demonstrated capability in hazard and risk control implementation.
• Experience coaching leaders and facilitating incident investigations.
• Exposure to Major Hazard Facilities or dangerous goods (highly regarded).
