Job summary

Mackay Hospital and Health Service is seeking an Operational Officer (Cleaning) to join the Operational Services team at Mackay Base Hospital on a permanent basis. The role supports 24/7 cleaning, waste removal, and the transport of patients and equipment across the facility, helping ensure patient care runs smoothly.

You will work under the guidance of Team Leaders and Managers to maintain hygiene standards, assist in the PELS areas, and contribute to a collaborative, respectful work culture

Qualifications

• Experience with hospital cleaning protocols and safety.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to follow instructions and maintain hygiene standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide 24/7 cleaning and waste removal support in a hospital setting.
• Assist in transportation of patients, equipment, linen around the hospital.
• Support and advise Team Leader, Supervisors and Manager of Operational Services.
