Mackay Hospital and Health Service is seeking an Operational Officer (Cleaning) to join the Mackay Base Hospital team on a permanent basis. The role provides a 24/7 cleaning and support service for staff and patients, including waste removal, transport of patients and equipment, and assistance to supervisors and managers of Operational Services.

• Experience in hospital cleaning and cleaning services operations.
• 24/7 shift coverage may be required.
• Ability to support multi-disciplinary staff and patients.

The Operational Services at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for an Operational Officer (Cleaning) to join their team on a permanent basis.

Your opportunity

This position will be responsible for providing a 24 hour/7-day week support service for multi-disciplinary staff and patient care including cleaning, removal of waste, transportation of patients, equipment, linen and materials around the hospital. This position will also be required to work with and provide support and advice to Team Leader, Supervisors and/or Manager of Operational Services.

About the Team

Operational Services provides and co-ordinates a diverse range of services that support the clinical divisions in the delivery of patient centred health care at Mackay Base Hospital. The department consists of the following keys areas:

• Cleaning Services;
• Wardsperson Services;
• Grounds and Gardens; and
• Patient Equipment Loan Store (PELS).
