About the role

Located at the iconic Sydney International Equestrian Centre, this role plays a key part in ensuring the venue operates safely, efficiently and to a high standard every day. Working across venue operations, facilities, maintenance activities and event delivery, the Operations Officer helps coordinate contractors, oversee operational readiness and support the successful delivery of sporting and commercial events.

This is a hands-on operations role that combines practical site-based work with planning, coordination and administrative responsibilities. The role provides day-to-day supervision and support to a small team of Service Officers while working closely with contractors, venue users and internal stakeholders to keep the site operating at its best.

Based at a single location, this role offers the opportunity to work in unique surroundings alongside a motivated and collaborative team that takes pride in delivering successful events and maintaining one of NSW's premier sporting venues.

A Day in the Life

No two days look the same at Sydney International Equestrian Centre.

A typical day might start with a walk-through of the venue to check facilities, equipment and field of play conditions before meeting with Service Officers to allocate priorities for the day. From there, time may be spent coordinating contractors, resolving maintenance issues, preparing venues for upcoming events, managing stakeholder requests and ensuring operational standards are met.

Throughout the day, the role collaborates with venue users, event teams and contractors, balancing competing priorities while maintaining a safe and professional environment. Whether overseeing site works, assisting with project delivery, supporting event operations or ensuring facilities are ready for use, the Operations Officer plays a critical part in delivering successful experiences for visitors, participants and event organisers.
