Job summary

REMONDIS Australia seeks a senior leader to oversee day-to-day operations at the Weipa site, including the landfill and transfer station. You will drive safety, efficiency and client satisfaction while mentoring the local team in waste logistics.

Lead the operations and manage relationships with regulators and customers, ensuring cost-effective performance and accountability for financial outcomes in a remote, autonomous role.

Qualifications

• Must have hands-on leadership in an operational environment.
• Strong project management and communication skills.
• Proven track record in managing teams to deliver services safely.
• Background in waste/environmental industries or related knowledge.
• HR driver license is required.

What you'll be doing

• Lead and manage day-to-day operations of our Integrated and Managed Services business unit at Weipa site, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant service delivery
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and regulators, representing REMONDIS locally
• Lead the team and efficiently managing our solid and liquid waste logistics fleet, landfill and transfer station operations
• Be responsible for training and developing the team, safety and customer service excellence
• Ensure cost effective operations and take accountability for operational financial performance
• Provide the highest possible levels of client satisfaction, maximize contract profitability and expand our services
