Job summary

CEVA Logistics in Dubbo, NSW, is seeking an Operations Manager – Tooling & Parts to lead a new contract logistics operation supporting the renewable energy sector. This hands-on leadership role combines technical operations, warehousing and customer service with people leadership.

You will manage tooling servicing, parts warehousing, safety, quality and KPIs, while remaining hands-on as needed. The role requires a technical background, experience in leading teams, and the ability to coordinate

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical and/or hydraulic equipment, tooling or industrial assets.
• Demonstrated experience leading teams and managing customer-facing operational service delivery.
• Strong warehouse and inventory-management capability, including accountability for KPIs, safety and quality.
• Sound commercial acumen across labour, budgets, productivity and operational performance.
• Confidence working with ERP, WMS, CMMS and/or technical asset-management systems.
• A collaborative leadership style and strong customer focus.
• Availability to undertake approximately 2–3 months of paid customer training in Newcastle from around early November 2026, with some international travel to Spain also likely as part of the training programme.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day operation across specialised tooling servicing and parts warehousing.
• Plan resources, workload and priorities to meet routine, planned and urgent customer requirements.
• Lead and support tooling activities including inspection, servicing, maintenance, repair, calibration, certification, preparation and dispatch.
• Oversee inbound receipt, inventory control, picking, packing, kitting, dispatch and returns across the parts operation.
• Act as the primary operational contact for the customer, resolving service issues and escalating risks where required.
• Own site performance across tooling availability, inventory accuracy, order fulfilment, safety, quality and agreed KPIs.
• Maintain effective financial and commercial control across labour, operating costs, productivity and contract performance.
• Lead QHSE compliance, operational risk management and a strong site safety culture.
• Ensure accurate and effective use of warehouse, maintenance, inventory and asset-management systems.
• Recruit, coach and develop the site team, including coordination of customer-specific technical training and competency development.
• Drive continuous improvement across safety, quality, customer service, productivity and asset utilisation.

YOUR ROLE

We’re seeking an experienced Operations Manager – Tooling & Parts to lead a new dedicated Contract Logistics operation in Dubbo supporting the renewable energy sector.

This is a hands‑on leadership role combining technical operations, warehousing, customer service and people leadership. You’ll lead a small team responsible for specialised tooling servicing and parts warehousing, with end‑to‑end accountability for safety, quality, tooling availability, inventory accuracy, operational performance and customer delivery.

Importantly, this is not a purely desk‑based management role. You’ll bring a practical technical background and remain close to the operation, providing hands‑on support where required and appropriately trained and authorised.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

Specifically, you will:

• Lead the day‑to‑day operation across specialised tooling servicing and parts warehousing

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

You’ll bring strong operational leadership experience from an electromechanical, industrial maintenance, technical services, engineering support, warehousing or similarly technically focused environment, underpinned by a relevant technical, vocational or trade qualification, or equivalent demonstrated technical experience.

• Hands‑on experience with mechanical, electrical and/or hydraulic equipment, tooling or industrial assets
• Demonstrated experience leading teams and managing customer‑facing operational service delivery
• Strong warehouse and inventory‑management capability, including accountability for KPIs, safety and quality
• Sound commercial acumen across labour, budgets, productivity and operational performance
• Confidence working with ERP, WMS, CMMS and/or technical asset‑management systems
• Strong judgement and practical problem‑solving capability, with the ability to respond effectively to changing and urgent priorities
• A collaborative leadership style and strong customer focus.

Availability to undertake approximately 2–3 months of paid customer training in Newcastle from around early November 2026, with some international travel to Spain also likely as part of the training programme; a valid passport will therefore be required.

Experience within renewable energy, power generation, mining, heavy industry or industrial services will be highly regarded, as will exposure to specialised tooling, maintenance, calibration, certification or technical asset management.

In addition to providing proof of work rights and suitable professional referees, progressed candidates will be required to undergo a medical assessment and national police check.
