Job summary

Kinetic IT is seeking a Technical Operations Manager to lead a multi-disciplinary engineering team onsite with a Federal Government client. The role focuses on people leadership, operational oversight and strong stakeholder management to ensure high-quality service delivery without requiring hands-on technical work.

You will guide capability and workload planning, drive performance improvements, and work to create an enjoyable, inclusive workplace.

Qualifications

• Active AGSVA Security Clearance NV1 or NV2.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
• Ability to manage performance, priorities, resources and escalations.
• Strong stakeholder management and client liaison skills.
• Proven track record of driving continuous improvement.

Job description

As a technical Operations Manager embedded onsite within one of Kinetic IT’s Federal Government customer environments, we’re seeking a dynamic people leader to oversee a team of multi-disciplinary Engineers while also serving as a key customer liaison to ensure exceptional service delivery. You don’t need to be a hands-on technical specialist; success in this role is centred on strong people leadership, operational oversight and stakeholder management.

Your primary focus will be leading and developing a multidisciplinary team of engineers across network, cloud, infrastructure and SOE. Within the Federal Government account, you’ll oversee operational activities, capability and workload planning, while driving performance, continuous improvement and exceptional customer service. You’ll also help create an enjoyable and inclusive workplace.

What were looking for?

• Must hold an active AGSVA Security Clearance (NV1 or NV2)
• Proven experience leading and developing teams of technical specialists, managing performance, priorities, resourcing and escalations
• Ability to motivate a multidisciplinary team, fostering a collaborative, accountable and high-performing team culture
• Proactively build and maintain trusted client relationships as a dedicated point of contact, leveraging strong stakeholder management skills to ensure ongoing satisfaction and consistently exceed expectations.
• Capability to champion continuous improvement, strengthen operational processes and optimise team capability and resource utilisation to maintain service quality
• A collaborative mindset to work effectively with vendors and partners to manage resources and deliver exceptional services and products
