Job summary

Laptek Systems Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Operations & Delivery Manager to lead the safe, efficient, and profitable delivery of maintenance and shutdown services across our client portfolio in the Australian mining sector.

You will oversee planning, mobilisation, execution, demobilisation and close-out, manage budgets and performance, and build strong client relationships while championing a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading maintenance, shutdown, or project delivery teams in mining or heavy industry.
• Strong operational planning and scheduling capability.
• Commercial acumen with budgets, margins and project performance.
• Proven experience managing client relationships and delivering service outcomes.
• Leadership skills to motivate and coach teams.
• Knowledge of WHS legislation, risk management and HSEQ systems.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Laptek is seeking an experienced Operations & Delivery Manager to lead the safe, efficient, and profitable delivery of maintenance and shutdown services across our client portfolio. This is a critical leadership role responsible for managing end-to-end operations, from planning and mobilisation through to execution, demobilisation, and project close-out.

Reporting to the General Manager, you will lead operational teams, build strong client relationships, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

About the Role

As the Operations & Delivery Manager, you will be accountable for :

Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with HSEQ standards, legislation, and client requirements.

Oversee risk management, incident investigations, corrective actions, injury management, and quality assurance processes.

Shutdown & Maintenance Delivery

Lead the planning, scheduling, resourcing, and delivery of shutdown and maintenance projects.

Ensure operational readiness, monitor project performance, manage variations, and drive successful project outcomes from mobilisation through to close-out.

Own operational profitability, budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and resource utilisation.

Monitor project financial performance, support accurate billing, and manage supplier and subcontractor performance.

Client & Stakeholder Management

Build and maintain strong client relationships as the primary operational contact.

Resolve issues, represent Laptek professionally, and identify opportunities for additional work and business growth.

Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and operational teams to deliver high performance.

Support workforce planning, recruitment, capability development, and employee performance management.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, productivity, quality, and cost performance.

Maintain accurate operational records, support audits, and contribute to the ongoing improvement of systems and procedures.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Significant experience leading maintenance, shutdown, or project delivery teams within mining, industrial, construction, engineering, or heavy industry environments.

Strong operational planning and scheduling capability.

Demonstrated commercial acumen with responsibility for budgets, margins, and project performance.

Proven experience managing client relationships and delivering exceptional service outcomes.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and hold teams accountable.

Sound knowledge of WHS legislation, risk management, and HSEQ systems.

Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
