Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District is seeking a motivated Operations Assistant to join the Operating Theatres team at Nepean Hospital. You will support health professionals in patient care, maintain essential equipment, and assist with safe transport of perioperative patients across the facility.

This permanent role offers full-time or part-time options with up to 38 hours per week. The roster is 24/7, including weekends and public holidays, at Nepean Hospital in Sydney's western

Qualifications

• Previous experience in care settings or health/aged care is advantageous.
• Able to meet physical demands including manual handling.
• Good written and verbal English communication.
• Able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Willingness to work a 24/7 rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Support health professionals in the delivery of patient care under supervision.
• Maintain and provide essential equipment to assist in patient care delivery.
• Safely transport perioperative surgical patients throughout the facility.

We are seeking a motivated and reliable Operations Assistant to join the Operating Theatres team at Nepean Hospital. In this role, you will support health professionals in the delivery of patient care under the direction of medical and nursing staff. You will maintain and provide essential equipment that assists in patient care delivery and be responsible for the safe transportation of perioperative surgical patients throughout the facility.

This is a permanent opportunity with full-time and part-time options available. The role operates on a 24/7 rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.

What you will bring to the role

1. Previous experience in one or more areas of this role – preferably working with people in a care setting, undertaking cleaning duties, manual handling and/or providing general assistance in a health or aged care setting.
2. Be able to meet the physical demands of the position as listed in the physical requirements in the position description.
3. Good communication skills in English - both written and verbal. Ability to communicate effectively across a multi-disciplinary work environment upholding the CORE principles of the organisation.
4. Able to demonstrate a clear understanding of Work Health and Safety and Safe Work Practices, including safe manual handling and display a thorough knowledge of Infection Control guidelines and policies.
5. Demonstrated ability to work independently, completing set tasks effectively.
6. Ability to work effectively as a member of a team, supporting others and taking directions from supervisors or other staff as appropriate.
7. Willingness to work within an operating theatre environment,around surgical procedures, as part of the broader care Team, with the ability to effectively demonstrate problem solving, time management and prioritisation skills in a Multidisciplinary Surgical work environment.
8. Ability and willingness to work shifts, on a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.
