Job summary

Sydney Water is seeking a SCADA Configuration & Test Engineer Level 3 to design, configure, test, and deploy SCADA, RTU, and PLC solutions supporting critical water infrastructure.

You will develop HMI screens, telemetry configurations, and lead system integration activities while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to improve asset performance and reliability. Hybrid Parramatta-based role with strong learning opportunities.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical, Electronics, CS, Mechatronics, Control Engineering or related discipline.
• Hands-on experience with SCADA, telemetry, and control systems including HMI development and configuration.
• Exposure to RTU and/or PLC programming, testing, and commissioning.
• Strong problem-solving skills translating requirements into technical solutions.
• Understanding telemetry networks and industry-standard protocols.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience with Geo SCADA Expert is highly regarded.

Develop and deploy SCADA configuration for critical infrastructure using best in industry practices for process automation.

About the role:

About you

• Degree qualified in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Control Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Hands-on experience with SCADA, telemetry, and control systems, including HMI development and configuration.
• Exposure to RTU and/or PLC programming, testing, and commissioning.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to translate operational requirements into technical solutions.
• Understanding of telemetry communications, networks, and industry-standard protocols.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience with Geo SCADA Expert will be highly regarded.
