Job summary

Provecta Process Automation is looking for graduates or engineers with up to five years of industry experience to join our Sydney team. You will contribute to the design, implementation and support of OT platforms and industrial control systems across energy, water and critical infrastructure sectors.

The role offers mentorship, a two-year Graduate Development Program and exposure to a variety of projects in renewables and automation, with a hybrid work model and opportunities for growth within

Qualifications

• Degree qualifications in Computer, IT, Electrical or Mechatronic Engineering (or equivalent).
• Interest in industrial automation, OT and IT systems.
• Understanding of virtualised computing environments (VMware/Hyper‑V).
• Understanding of Ethernet networking, including network architecture, firewalls and VLANs.
• Understanding of cybersecurity principles for secure industrial environments.
• Ability to interpret technical documentation and apply it to design, implement and support systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide OT and IT engineering services to design, implement, commission and support OT platforms and infrastructure.
• Work under supervision of senior engineers while increasing responsibility with experience.

This position is suitable for recent graduates as well as engineers with up to five years of relevant industry experience. Responsibilities and remuneration will be aligned with the successful applicant's skills, experience and demonstrated capability.

Purpose of Position:

Provide Operational Technology (OT) and Information Technology (IT) engineering services to assist in the design, implementation, commissioning and support of OT platforms and infrastructure. Working under the guidance of senior engineers while exercising increasing levels of responsibility based on experience, this role contributes to the reliable, secure and efficient operation of industrial control systems for Provecta's customers.

• Degree qualifications in Computer, IT, Electrical or Mechatronic Engineering (or equivalent)

• Experience supporting, commissioning or maintaining industrial control systems.
• Exposure to Operational Technology (OT) environments, industrial networks or critical infrastructure systems.
• Experience with Windows Server environments, Active Directory or virtualisation platforms.
• Exposure to industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, DNP3, IEC 61850, OPC-UA or similar.
• Exposure to programming or scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell or similar.
• Practical experience (through employment, internships, university or personal projects) in process control, instrumentation or industrial automation

• Relevant technical experience gained through employment, internships, university projects, personal projects or engineering consulting activities.
• Demonstrated technical capability through academic achievement, professional experience, project work or other relevant accomplishments.
• Ability to plan and manage work activities to meet deadlines.
• Proven ability to work with attention to detail and to accurately document work activities undertaken
• Effective oral and written communication skills in English
• Demonstrated initiative and willingness to learn new technologies.
