Job summary

JS Careers Pty is seeking an Operational Risk Analyst to support the Australian business and strengthen controls across a global banking environment.

You will work with Risk, Compliance and stakeholders to review events, perform risk assessments and contribute to governance. The role offers exposure to international initiatives and a competitive compensation package.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in Operational Risk, Enterprise Risk, Internal Audit or Risk Consulting.
• Experience in banking, financial services or regulated environments.
• Strong understanding of risk frameworks, controls and governance.

Job description

An exciting opportunity for an Operational Risk Analyst to join a leading global banking organisation. Supporting the Australian business, you’ll work closely with Risk, Compliance and key business stakeholders to strengthen operational risk management, enhance controls and support effective risk governance across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide second-line operational risk support across a complex banking environment
• Partner with Risk, Compliance and business stakeholders to strengthen risk management practices
• Review operational risk events, identify control gaps and support effective remediation
• Conduct risk assessments and control reviews across key business areas
• Monitor operational risk exposures and contribute to reporting for senior management
• Support the ongoing development and enhancement of operational risk frameworks, policies and governance processes
• Analyse risk data and trends to identify emerging risks and opportunities for improvement
• Contribute to local and global risk initiatives, projects and regulatory requirements

About You

• 3+ years’ experience in Operational Risk, Enterprise Risk, Internal Audit or Risk Consulting
• Experience within banking, financial services, capital markets or another highly regulated environment
• Strong understanding of operational risk frameworks, controls and governance
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risk and identify control weaknesses
• Excellent communication skills and confidence engaging with stakeholders across the business
• Proactive and collaborative, with the ability to operate effectively within a complex, global organisation
