Job summary

Optus is seeking a seasoned Business Continuity, Emergency Services and Risk Lead to drive proactive resilience and emergency preparedness across Field Operations. You will lead major incident responses, coordinate restoration efforts, and maintain a strategic focus on risk mitigation for network and field services.

Reporting to the Senior Director, you will embed consistent emergency response practices, engage with government and emergency services, and enable rapid recovery for customers

Qualifications

• Degree qualifications in Engineering, Telecommunications, Business, Operations Management or related field.
• Significant experience in telecommunications, network or field operations environments.
• Experience in operational risk management, business continuity and disaster recovery.

Responsibilities

• Lead operational resilience, business continuity and disaster recovery planning across Field Operations.
• Oversee risk management from identification to mitigation withinNetworks risk structure.
• Coordinate preparedness for major incidents, severe weather and disasters.
• Maintain emergency response plans, resource readiness and recovery capabilities.
• Act as field operational lead during emergencies, directing restoration activities.
• Partner with NOC to coordinate response priorities and restoration outcomes.
• Deliver executive reporting on readiness, resilience and risk performance.
• Drive continuous improvement and culture of preparedness across Field Operations.
