Job summary

ASSA ABLOY Australia seeks an experienced Opening Solutions Design Specialist to join our Melbourne Specification team. You will deliver complex, solution-based hardware specifications that comply with codes and standards, collaborating with architects, consultants, and project stakeholders.

You will translate requirements into practical, cost-effective solutions, manage multiple projects, and advance specification-driven growth while leveraging CRM tools and digital scheduling solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering hardware specifications or technical solutions in construction, architecture, or building products.
• Strong knowledge of Building Code of Australia and Australian Standards.
• Ability to read construction drawings and technical docs clearly.
• Familiarity with mechanical and/or electronic access solutions.
• Experience using specification software, CRMs, and digital technologies.
• Solid project management skills with ability to handle multiple deadlines.
• Excellent communication to explain complex concepts to varied stakeholders.
• Customer-focused, collaborative, detail-oriented problem-solver.

Responsibilities

• Develop accurate, compliant hardware schedules aligned to codes and project needs.
• Deliver complex opening solutions and provide technical expertise for project success.
• Translate customer and project requirements into practical, cost-effective solutions.
• Act as escalation point for complex product and specification queries.
• Build and maintain relationships with architects, designers, consultants, and builders.
• Deliver CPD presentations and support specification-driven growth initiatives.
• Manage multiple projects with timely delivery and proper documentation.
• Support sales with quality specifications and pipeline visibility.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, standards and security requirements.
• Utilise CRM and AI-assisted scheduling to improve efficiency.
• Mentor team members to raise capability and consistency.
