Job summary

ASSA ABLOY Australia is seeking an Opening Solutions Design Specialist to join the Specification team in Melbourne. You will deliver complex, solution-based opening hardware specifications and provide technical expertise to support project success.

You will collaborate with architects, consultants and builders, translate requirements into compliant, cost-effective solutions, and manage multiple projects with meticulous documentation and schedule adherence.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering hardware specifications or technical solutions within construction or architectural industries.
• Strong knowledge of Building Code of Australia and relevant Australian Standards.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings and technical documentation.
• Knowledge of specification software and CRM platforms.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop accurate hardware schedules aligned to Building Codes, Australian Standards and project requirements.
• Deliver complex opening solutions and provide technical expertise to support project success.
• Translate customer and project requirements into practical, compliant and cost-effective solutions.
• Act as a technical escalation point for complex product and specification queries.
• Build and maintain relationships with architects, designers, consultants, builders and internal stakeholders.
• Deliver CPD presentations and support specification-driven growth initiatives.
• Manage multiple projects, ensuring timely delivery, accurate documentation and effective project tracking.
• Utilise CRM systems and AI-assisted scheduling tools to improve efficiency and service delivery.
• Coach and mentor team members to build capability across the Specification team.
