Job summary

Kanda invites you to an Open Recruitment Day in Hervey Bay to explore the rewarding role of Residential Care Worker. Date: 17/09/2026, 12pm–2pm, at 168A Boat Harbour Drive, Pialba. Come learn, meet the team, and interview on the day for immediate opportunities.

Permanent part-time and casual roles are available, with competitive pay from $46.70/hr for casuals, comprehensive training including Therapeutic Crisis Intervention and The Sanctuary Model, and supportive local leadership.

Qualifications

• A current driver’s licence (Minimum of a P2).
• A Working with Children Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Check (or be eligible to obtain these).
• Completed or studying towards a Certificate IV, Diploma in Community Services, Youth Work, Social Work, or a related field.
• Experience with young people or in related areas is preferred, but not required.
• A genuine passion for supporting children and young people.

Responsibilities

• Learn about a day in the life of a Residential Care Worker.
• Meet our local leaders and CYF management team.

What We’re Looking For

• A genuine passion for supporting children and young people
• A current driver’s licence (Minimum of a P2)
• A Working with Children Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Check (or be eligible to obtain these).
• Completed or studying towards aCertificate IV, Diplomain Community Services, Youth Work, Social Work, or a related field
• Experience with young people or in related areas(disability, mental health, aged care, childcare) ispreferred, but not requiredwe welcome applicants who are eager to learn and grow
