Job summary

Genesis Minerals Limited in Western Australia is seeking a Mining Engineer - Open Pit to join our Technical Services Team at the Leonora Operation and support our Tower Hill project. The role focuses on safe, efficient, and cost-effective mining operations through mine production, drill and blast designs and operations support.

You will contribute to short-term planning, design of mine infrastructure, and coordination with production, geology and survey teams to ensure safe and timely execution

Qualifications

• Operational site based mining experience (ideally Gold) and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic production environment.
• Sound demonstrated experience in an Open Pit Mine Planning role.
• Technical expertise in relation to Open Pit mine design, drill and blast, optimisation and planning

Responsibilities

• Contribute to safe, efficient, and sustainable mining operations
• Prepare drill and blast pattern designs, tie-ins
• Review drill and blast results, and provide reconciliation and improvement recommendations
• Undertake short-term mine planning and support plan execution
• Design short-term mine infrastructure, including dumps, haul roads and access ramps
• Prepare dig plans, face maps, and operator instructions to support selective mining
• Upload and manage dig designs and surfaces on machines
• Liaise with production, geology, and survey departments to ensure efficient execution of production plans
• Monitor fleet productivity and recommend improvements
• Collect operational data and prepare daily and weekly recon production reports
