Job summary

Glencore's Hunter Valley Operations (HVO) in NSW seeks a Mining Supervisor to lead a team of mining operators and step-up supervisors. Reporting to the Mining Coordinator, you will drive production, safety and quality outcomes in a busy open cut operation.

This role offers development opportunities, mentoring from senior managers, and a pathway to the next career step within a dynamic, safety‑driven environment at HVO on site in the Hunter Valley.

Qualifications

• Open Cut Examiners Certificate of Competency or equivalent.
• Extensive experience in the mining industry with open cut operations.
• Experience in complex mining environments including steep dipping seams and underground workings.
• Strong leadership and people management capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to a team of mining operators and step-up supervisors.
• Mentor up-and-coming step ups and develop talent.
• Foster an inclusive and positive safety culture.
• Coordinate mining activities to optimise production.
• Ensure coal is prepared for delivery according to daily and weekly plans with safety, quality and production targets.
• Collaborate with Dispatch, Mine Services and Drill & Blast to prioritise short-term tasks.
• Ensure compliance with all HSEC and legislative requirements.
