Job summary

Uniting is seeking a part-time parental leave replacement to coordinate volunteers and daily operations at the Albert Park Op Shop. The role is 53.2 hours per fortnight, Sundays to Tuesdays one week and Saturdays to Tuesdays the next, ending in June 2027.

The position offers weekend work and a dynamic, community-focused environment. You’ll drive visual merchandising, stock control, and customer service while managing cash handling and daily closing procedures.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate volunteers and daily operations of the Albert Park Op Shop.

• Handle cash, operate the till, and follow closing procedures.
• Work weekends; may rotate to other Op Shop locations as needed.

Your new role

Join our team and coordinate our volunteers and daily operations of our Op Shop in Albert Park. It's a great opportunity to be part of a friendly community, it's lively and varied!

This is a parental leave replacement position for 53.2 hours per fortnight. The roster is Sundays to Tuesdays one week, and then Saturdays to Tuesdays the following week. This may include additional hours as required. This maximum-term part-time position is expected to end in June 2027.

Our Op Shops team are responsible for bringing their creative flair to create visually appealing and contemporary Op Shops. Your skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you will have a passion for fashion and charity retail and have a flair for visual merchandising.

You will ideally have experience in cash handling, register operations and closing procedures and be confident in supervising a team as well as working on your own.

You will also be available to work weekends and public holidays, sometimes at short notice. You may sometimes be required to work at our other Op Shop locations.
