Job summary

Synergie Australia is seeking an OO6 Condition Assessor for a Government client in Toowoomba. The role involves inspecting buildings and assets, evaluating condition, and producing detailed reports to inform maintenance planning.

You will travel regionally and may live away from home during assignments. This Toowoomba-based contract runs from 30 November 2026 to 26 February 2027, with a potential extension.

Responsibilities

• Inspect buildings, facilities and other physical assets.
• Assess the condition of structures, fixtures and fittings.
• Identify defects, deterioration and maintenance requirements.
• Recognise safety and operational risks.
• Take photographs and maintain inspection records.
• Prepare clear condition-assessment reports.
• Recommend repair, maintenance or replacement work.
• Provide information to support maintenance planning.
• Contribute to asset-management and budgeting decisions.
• Travel to regional locations and live away from home when required.

The important parts:

Pay:$60–$65 per hour + Super | Duration:30 November 2026 to 26 February 2027 (potential for extension)

What you will be required to do:

As the Condition Assessor, you will:

• Inspect buildings, facilities and other physical assets
• Assess the condition of structures, fixtures and fittings
• Identify defects, deterioration and maintenance requirements
• Recognise potential safety and operational risks
• Take photographs and maintain accurate inspection records
• Prepare clear and detailed condition-assessment reports
• Recommend repair, maintenance or replacement work
• Provide reliable information to support maintenance planning
• Contribute to asset-management and budgeting decisions
• Research and analyse information relevant to each assessment
• Report progress, emerging issues and potential delays
• Travel to regional locations and live away from home when required

To be successful in the role you will:

• Availability to travel and live away from home for periods of time

Required capabilities

• Experience inspecting buildings, facilities or constructed assets
• Strong knowledge of construction methods and building components
• Ability to identify defects, risks and maintenance requirements
• Sound judgement when assessing asset condition
• Experience preparing inspection or condition reports
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Confidence using computers and electronic recordkeeping systems
• Ability to maintain accurate inspection data and photographs
• Clear and concise communication with customers and stakeholders
• Ability to work independently and manage field-based workloads
• Strong focus on accuracy, safety and accountability
• Ability to report progress and raise issues promptly
• A proactive, solutions‑focused mindset
• Tertiary qualification in science or engineering
