Job summary

Synergie Australia is seeking an OO6 Condition Assessor for a trusted Government client located in Toowoomba. The role offers a Toowoomba‑based contract from 30 November 2026 to 26 February 2027 with travel and potential extension.

You will inspect buildings and assets, assess conditions, identify defects, and prepare detailed reports. Successful candidates will have a tertiary qualification in science or engineering, strong construction knowledge, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Experience inspecting buildings, facilities or constructed assets
• Strong knowledge of construction methods and building components
• Ability to identify defects, risks and maintenance requirements
• Sound judgement when assessing asset condition
• Experience preparing inspection or condition reports
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Confidence using computers and electronic recordkeeping systems
• Ability to maintain accurate inspection data and photographs
• Clear and concise communication with customers and stakeholders
• Ability to work independently and manage field-based workloads
• Strong focus on accuracy, safety and accountability
• Ability to report progress and raise issues promptly
• A proactive, solutions-focused mindset
• Tertiary qualification in science or engineering

Pay:$60–$65 per hour + Super | Duration:30 November 2026 to 26 February 2027 (potential for extension)

What you will be required to do:

As the Condition Assessor, you will:

• Inspect buildings, facilities and other physical assets
• Assess the condition of structures, fixtures and fittings
• Identify defects, deterioration and maintenance requirements
• Recognise potential safety and operational risks
• Take photographs and maintain accurate inspection records
• Prepare clear and detailed condition‑assessment reports
• Recommend repair, maintenance or replacement work
• Provide reliable information to support maintenance planning
• Contribute to asset‑management and budgeting decisions
• Research and analyse information relevant to each assessment
• Report progress, emerging issues and potential delays
• Travel to regional locations and live away from home when required
