Job summary

Downer Energy & Utilities is seeking an experienced Zero Harm Advisor to join our team supporting operations within the Barrow Island business. You will provide practical onsite safety guidance, drive safe work practices and ensure compliance with WHS legislation and client requirements.

Responsibilities include day-to-day safety advice, site inspections, audits, risk assessments and incident investigations.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or equivalent is required.
• Diploma in Work Health and Safety highly regarded.
• Demonstrated safety advisory experience and strong WHS knowledge.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide day to day safety advice to site management, supervisors and employees.
• Promote a strong safety culture through coaching and engagement.
• Conduct site inspections, audits and safety observations.
• Assist with Safe Work Method Statements, JHA and risk assessments.
• Support compliance with WHS legislation and client requirements.
• Participate in incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Facilitate toolbox talks, pre-start meetings and safety training.
