Job description

We are seeking a proactive and highly organised Onsite Procurement and Inventory Coordinator to take ownership of inventory management, purchasing support and materials coordination across our site operations. You will play a key role in ensuring critical materials, engineering spare parts and maintenance supplies are available when required to support safe, reliable and efficient operations. You will work closely with Engineering, Maintenance, Reliability, Procurement and Operations teams while providing day-to-day coordination of inventory activities and driving improvements in inventory performance, purchasing processes and system accuracy.

This position offers the opportunity to take a leadership role in inventory governance and continuous improvement initiatives, influencing stakeholders across the business to optimise stock holdings, improve service levels and reduce operating costs.

Key responsibilities

Manage site inventory and materials availability to ensure operational and maintenance teams have timely access to critical spare parts, consumables and materials.

Maintain high levels of inventory accuracy through effective stock control processes, cycle counting, stock audits and reconciliation activities, investigating and resolving discrepancies as required.

Analyse inventory performance and identify opportunities to reduce excess, obsolete and slow-moving stock while balancing operational requirements and service level expectations.

Lead inventory optimisation initiatives, including stock parameter reviews, min/max level adjustments, and strategic inventory planning to improve working capital efficiency.

Coordinate stock transfers between locations and identify alternative sourcing solutions to maximise inventory utilisation and minimise unnecessary expenditure.

Manage end-to-end purchasing and replenishment activities, including raising purchase requisitions, processing purchase orders, expediting deliveries and ensuring continuity of supply.

Build and maintain effective supplier relationships, monitoring supplier performance and proactively managing risks related to lead times, shortages, quality issues and delivery schedules.

Ensure goods receipt processes are completed accurately and promptly, maintaining robust inventory records and supporting financial compliance requirements.

Produce and analyse inventory, purchasing and supplier performance reports, providing insights and recommendations to support operational decision-making and cost control.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on inventory governance, process efficiency, cost reduction and operational reliability.

Work closely with Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, Reliability and Procurement teams to understand demand requirements, improve planning processes and support site performance objectives.

Serve as the primary point of contact for inventory and materials management activities, promoting best practice, compliance and stakeholder engagement across the site.

Coordinate and support inventory-related activities involving stores personnel, contractors and external suppliers to ensure effective execution of site requirements.

About you

Experience in inventory management, materials coordination, procurement support or supply chain environments.

Strong understanding of inventory control principles, stock governance and purchasing processes.

Experience using SAP or a similar system.

Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Outlook and Teams.

Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.

Experience working with maintenance, engineering or manufacturing operations is highly desirable.

Leadership and influencing skills.

Self-motivated with a high level of ownership and accountability.

This is an opportunity to take a visible and influential role within the business, leading inventory performance and supporting operational reliability. You'll have the autonomy to improve processes, influence key stakeholders and make a measurable impact on service, cost and operational outcomes.
