Job summary

University of New South Wales – Kensington NSW is seeking a Collection Access Officer to provide timely access to physical library collections and manage requests across UNSW Library locations.

The role reports to a Team Coordinator in the Digitisation and Collection Access Unit and involves processing requests, reshelving, and maintaining data accuracy. Full-time, onsite work with rostered shifts.

Qualifications

• Diploma with relevant experience or equivalent knowledge.
• Experience in library services and physical collections.
• Ability to use AI-powered tools for analysing collection data.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Process collection item requests, including retrieval and intercampus loans.
• Record statistics and metrics for reporting.
• Support collection maintenance, deselection, relocation, and data accuracy.
• Inspect and remediate physical items as required.
• Discharge, shelving and shelf reading to ensure access.
