Job summary

Weir is seeking a Mechanical Fitter for a hands-on role in Comminution, based in Hazelmere, WA. You will work on heavy equipment including HPGR, screens and cone crushers, delivering maintenance and service across workshop and customer sites.

The role requires 3–4 years of relevant trade experience, a Certificate III in Mechanical Engineering, and a valid driver’s license. Hydraulic knowledge is desirable and you will collaborate closely with the APAC team to drive sustainable growth.

Qualifications

• Minimum Certificate III in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3-4 years relevant technical/trade experience.
• Experience with heavy equipment such as HPGR, hydraulic and rotating equipment.
• Hydraulic knowledge desirable.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
• Be available for a combination of workshop and field work.
• Valid Drivers License.

Responsibilities

• Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to zero harm in daily work and safety culture.
• Provide on-site service and customer support for repairs, maintenance, fault diagnosis and testing.
• Collaborate with HPGR team across site, Perth and Port Hedland facilities; manage APAC regional clients.
• Identify equipment improvements and advise on reducing total cost of ownership.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and meet service expectations.
• Coordinate with Area Managers to ensure timely installation and commissioning activities.
