Weir in Hazelmere, WA seeks a Mechanical Fitter – Comminution to repair and maintain HPGR, screens and cone crushers on customer sites and in the workshop, mixing fitter work with hands-on field service across the APAC region.

You will support the HPGR team, perform preventative maintenance and repairs, and work with customers and Site Service Supervisors to keep plants running safely and efficiently while identifying improvements to reduce total cost of ownership.

Qualifikationen

• Minimum Certificate III in Mechanical Engineering
• 3–4 years relevant technical/trade experience
• Experience on heavy specialised equipment such as HPGR, screens and cone crushers
• Hydraulic knowledge desirable
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, safety rules and maintenance instructions
• Be available for a combination of workshop and field work
• Valid Drivers Licence

The Comminution Technician is responsible to carry out repairs and maintenance on Weir HPGR, screens and cone crusher equipment on customer sites and the workshop as both a fitter and a hands-on site service technician in addition to managing clients within the APAC region to establish and implement a sustainable growth of the allocated Comminution business unit.

• Collaborate with the HPGR team across site, Perth, and Port Hedland facilities, while managing APAC regional clients to drive sustainable growth for the HPGR business unit.

• Deliver on-site service and customer support, ensuring maintenance, repairs, fault diagnosis, and testing are completed as per defined scopes of work.

• Identify and recommend equipment improvements to the Service Manager to help reduce customers’ total cost of ownership (TCO).

• Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, addressing concerns and ensuring service expectations are consistently met.

• Provide technical guidance to the Site Service Supervisor on service and component requirements for contracts and support preventative maintenance to minimise plant downtime.

• Coordinate with Area Managers to ensure timely and cost-effective installation and commissioning activities, while demonstrating flexibility and a collaborative, customer-focused approach.

What you’ll bring

• A minimum of 3–4 years relevant technical/trade experience (Minimum Certificate III in Mechanical Engineering)
• Experience working on heavy specialised equipment such as high‑pressure grinding rolls, hydraulic and rotating equipment is highly preferred
• Hydraulic knowledge is desirable
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as technical drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Be available for a combination of workshop and field work.
• Valid Drivers License
