Job summary

Cancer Care Associates (CCA) is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for our Western Haematology and Oncology Clinics in West Perth. This permanent part-time role (0.8 FTE, 30 hours/week) offers day shifts Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, with no nights and pro-rated leave.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with AHPRA registration and unrestricted practice.
• Experience administering cytotoxic chemotherapy and related cancer treatments, including ADAC competency.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with empathy for patients and their caregivers.
• Clinical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective care planning and coordination skills.
• Commitment to quality improvement and evidence-based practice.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• CVAD management, IV cannulation and phlebotomy.
• Experience in clinical trials.

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic nursing care, high-level patient assessments, and referrals for optimal patient outcomes.
• Deliver chemotherapy administration and monitor patients for side effects.
• Collaborate with oncologists and multidisciplinary team to plan and adjust care.
• Conduct nursing observations and ensure medication administration per policy.
• Support patient education and discharge planning.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical governance.

Key Responsibilities

• Practice in accordance with state-based Health Legislation and ACQSHC National Standards.
• Provide holistic nursing care, high-level patient assessments, and referrals for optimal patient outcomes.
• Contribute to quality improvements and collaborate with the Quality and Clinical Governance team to ensure best practices.
• Conduct nursing observations and administer medications in line with policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with Oncologists and the multidisciplinary team.
• Set working days of Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday
• No night or late shifts, supporting a healthy work-life balance.
• 5 weeks annual leave pro-rata.

Qualifications and Skills

• Current and unrestricted registration and experience as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
• Experience administering Cytotoxic chemotherapy and related cancer treatments, including ADAC chemotherapy competency.
