Job summary

Randstad Australia is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer for a public sector organisation in the civil-construction sector. The role is an ongoing full-time temporary assignment, based on-site at Nerang, starting immediately through to 30 June 2027 with potential extension.

You will deliver end-to-end payroll for employees and labour hire contractors weekly, ensuring accurate payments, compliance with payroll policies and industrial instruments, and providing payroll support across

Qualifications

Experience delivering end-to-end payroll in a high-volume environment.
Strong interpretation of industrial instruments and awards.
Proficient with payroll systems, preferably SAP, and accuracy-focused.
Excellent numerical and data-recording capabilities.
Clear communication with employees, management and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Process weekly payroll for employees and labour hire contractors across multiple awards.
Manage timekeeping data, including timesheets and leave requests.
Apply award interpretations, allowances, overtime and entitlements correctly.
Perform payroll reconciliations, project expense accruals and compliance reviews.
Provide payroll guidance and support to operational teams and management.
Assist with broader finance duties as needed, including AP/AR and procurement.
