Job summary

Randstad is seeking a Payroll Officer for a well-established public sector organisation in the civil-construction sector. This full-time temporary role is on-site at Nerang, Queensland, starting immediately through to 30 June 2027 with potential extension.

You will deliver end-to-end payroll for employees and labour hire contractors, ensuring accuracy and compliance with awards, leave, and timekeeping across multiple instruments. On-site, fast-paced and collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering end-to-end payroll
• Strong interpretation of awards and industrial instruments
• Experience with construction-related awards (e.g., Building and Construction or BEMS) preferred
• Proficiency with payroll systems, SAP advantageous

Responsibilities

• Process weekly payroll for employees and contractors across multiple awards
• Review timesheets and leave, ensuring timely submissions
• Conduct payroll reconciliations and audit readiness
• Provide payroll guidance and training to staff
• Support broader finance tasks as needed
