Job summary

Randstad is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join a well-established public sector organisation in the civil-construction sector. This ongoing full-time temporary assignment requires 5 days per week on-site at Nerang, Australia, paying $51.13 per hour plus super, starting immediately through to the end of June 2027 with potential for extension.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering payroll in high-volume environments.
• Experience interpreting awards, industrial instruments and leave entitlements.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to maintain audit-ready payroll records and resolve issues promptly.

Responsibilities

• Process weekly payroll for employees and labour hire contractors across multiple awards.
• Review timesheets and attendance data to ensure timely submissions.
• Apply awards, agreements, allowances, overtime and leave correctly.
• Conduct payroll reconciliations and project expense accruals.
• Provide payroll guidance and training to staff and management.
• Support accounts payable/receivable and other finance duties as needed.
