Job summary

Tyre Collection Australia is seeking a Fitter to work on-site at Derrimut, VIC. The role involves reading technical drawings, fitting metal parts, assembling subassemblies, and maintaining machinery to support efficient tyre collection and processing operations.

The candidate should have a Certificate III in Engineering or equivalent (ANZSCO Skill Level 3) with 3+ years of relevant experience, including on-the-job training. On-site work and safety compliance are required.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Engineering or AQF equivalent with 2+ years on-the-job training
• Alternatively 3+ years relevant work experience may be accepted
• 1 extra year of full-time or equivalent part-time experience required

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret drawings, specs, and work instructions.
• Fit and assemble metal parts and subassemblies into machines and equipment.
• Inspect assemblies with precision tools to ensure tolerances.
• Set up machining tools, dies, and cutters for fitting operations.
• Form metal stock to tight tolerances using cutting and grinding.
• Install hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and fittings.
• Diagnose faults and perform maintenance and repairs on machinery.
• Assist with on-site installation, assembly, and commissioning.
