Job summary

Tyre Collection Australia in Derrimut, VIC, is seeking a suitably experienced Fitter to join our on-site workshop team. You will fit and assemble mechanical components, read drawings, and carry out machining, installation of hydraulic and pneumatic components, and perform routine maintenance.

This full-time role offers 38 hours per week, a salary of AUD 80,000–85,000 per year plus super, with a 2–3 year employment duration and ongoing opportunities.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade or AQF III with on‑the‑job training.
• AQF Certificate IV qualification (ANZSCO Skill Level 3) or equivalent.
• At least three years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of formal qualifications.
• An additional one year of relevant full‑time or equivalent part‑time experience may be required.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret technical drawings, specs and work instructions.
• Fit and assemble fabricated metal parts and subassemblies into machines and equipment.
• Inspect completed assemblies with precision measuring instruments for accuracy.
• Set up machining tools and dies for machining and fitting operations.
• Form metal stock and castings to tight tolerances using machining tools.
• Cut, thread, bend and install hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and fittings.
• Diagnose faults and perform maintenance, servicing and repairs on machinery.
• Assist with installation, assembly and commissioning of machines on-site.
