The Midfield Group in Warrnambool, Victoria is seeking a skilled Maintenance Fitter to join our on-site team. You will repair and maintain machinery, support the Preventative Maintenance Program, and work with a crew of tradespeople to keep our operations running smoothly.

The ideal candidate holds a Trade Certificate (Engine Reconditioning/ Fitter & Turner/ Machinist) and demonstrates reliability, problem-solving, and good communication.

Qualifications

• Trade Certificates - Engine Reconditioning/ Fitter & Turner/ Machinist and/or other related industry qualification.
• Strong experience in a similar maintenance fitter role is highly regarded.
• Be punctual, reliable and a self-motivated team player.

Responsabilités

• Repairing and maintaining machinery and equipment.
• Scheduling and completing the company's Preventative Maintenance Program.
• Study drawings and specifications to determine material/method and settings.
• Fit fabricated metal parts and assemble sub-assemblies to produce machines.
• Check parts for accuracy and fit using precision instruments.
• Set up machining tools and controls for cutting/shaping operations.
• Form metal stock to fine tolerance using machining tools.
• Cut, thread, bend and install hydraulic and pneumatic lines.
• Diagnose faults and perform operational maintenance and overhauls.
• May erect machines on-site and attend maintenance meetings.
