Job summary

Karara Mining Limited in Western Australia seeks an experienced Medical and Emergency Services Officer (MESO) to lead Emergency Response teams and provide professional EMS advice across prevention, preparedness, response and recovery.

You will actively promote Karara Health and Safety systems, engaging with employees and contractors, and contribute specialist guidance to management. The role operates on an 8 days on / 6 days off and 7 nights on / 7 days off rotation.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Mine Emergency Response and Rescue is essential.
• Certificate IV Health Care is required.
• Ability to collect pathology specimens other than blood is essential.
• Demonstrated leadership and training of Emergency Response teams.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergencies to protect life, property, and reputation.
• Support site emergency preparedness and improvement.
• Promote and train the Volunteer Emergency Response Team.
• Provide emergency first aid and support the onsite Registered Nurse.
• Operate response vehicles and rescue equipment safely and competently.
• Conduct Fitness for Work and Drug & Alcohol testing.
• Perform audits, inspections, and equipment checks.
• Manage night shift access control and site security.
• Provide after‑hours accommodation support.
• Assist with fire system testing and inspections.
