Job summary

Wisely Group is seeking a delivery-focused Mechanical Engineer to optimise performance, reliability, and safety of heavy industrial assets at a dedicated mine site in the Central Bowen Basin.

You will bridge technical design and field maintenance, overseeing inspections, vibration analysis, defect investigations, and outage planning in CHPP and materials handling environments. A Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering and 3+ years in mining are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
• 3+ years of exposure within heavy industry, mining, or heavy materials handling.
• CHPP infrastructure experience is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Oversee structural, piping, and mechanical asset inspections to map and direct repair schedules for large-scale mining infrastructure and CHPP environments.
• Set up, execute, and analyze vibration data collections on rotating equipment to diagnose machine health anomalies and bearing degradation.
• Investigate equipment faults and component failures, conducting root-cause assessments and recommending engineering adjustments.
• Collaboratively plan and design mechanical layouts, project scopes, and safety risk profiles for outages and structural overhauls.
• Ensure mechanical designs and testing adhere to Australian standards and safety compliance frameworks.
• Work with site crews, project managers, and client personnel to keep project delivery aligned.
