Job summary

Design & Build Recruitment is seeking an enthusiastic EHS Coordinator to join our commercial construction team on a site-based assignment. The role requires at least 12 months of construction safety experience and a White Card, with a focus on on-site presence and practical risk control.

You will work with the Project EHS Manager and site leadership to deliver safety initiatives, run inductions and toolbox talks, and help maintain compliant safety systems across the project.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months' experience in a construction safety, WHS or EHS support role.
• Experience on commercial or civil construction projects.
• Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (or working towards it).
• Current White Card.
• Solid understanding of Australian WHS legislation and construction safety practices.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage site teams.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Proactive attitude and commitment to safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of environmental, health and safety initiatives across the project.
• Foster a positive safety culture while ensuring legislative and site compliance.
• Maintain accurate safety records and documentation.
• Assist with site inductions, toolbox talks and safety communications.
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits and workplace observations.
• Support subcontractor safety compliance on site.
• Assist with incident reporting, investigations and corrective actions.
