Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a vigilant Cybersecurity Analyst to join its IT security team. The role focuses on monitoring security systems, investigating incidents, and implementing security measures on-site in Queenstown.

You will contribute to a secure environment, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive improvements in security posture. The ideal candidate has 3+ years in cybersecurity operations and a strong foundation in network security, cryptography, and common attack vectors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity operations, incident response, or threat analysis.
• Proficiency with security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, endpoint protection, and vulnerability scanners.
• Strong understanding of network security, cryptography, and common attack vectors.
• Knowledge of relevant security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and events using SIEM and other security tools to detect and respond to threats.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify security weaknesses.
• Investigate security incidents, perform forensic analysis, and develop remediation plans.
• Implement and maintain security controls, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint security solutions.
• Develop and update security policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Provide security awareness training to employees and ensure compliance with security protocols.
