Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Senior SOC Analyst to join a remote-first security team, supporting global operations. You will monitor security alerts, detect threats, and respond in real time to protect the organization’s digital infrastructure.

You will analyze complex security events, provide expert guidance during investigations, and contribute to the continuous improvement of SOC processes and technologies. This is a remote-friendly role with on-call rotation outside standard hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC) environment, with a focus on threat detection and incident response.
• In-depth knowledge of SIEM tools, network protocols, operating systems, and common attack techniques.
• Experience with forensic analysis tools and methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
• Relevant certifications such as GCIH, GCIA, or equivalent are highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Investigate security incidents, perform forensic analysis, and lead containment and eradication efforts.
• Develop and refine detection rules and correlation logic within the SIEM platform.
• Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to junior SOC analysts.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of incident response playbooks and procedures.
• Stay current with the latest threat intelligence, attack vectors, and cybersecurity trends.
• Participate in on-call rotation for incident response outside of standard business hours.
