Job summary

Century Mine in Queensland is seeking an experienced OHS&T Coordinator to join a small, skilled team. The role involves practical safety support, emergency preparedness, training delivery, and robust compliance across the operation, with time split between field and administrative duties.

You will join during a period of change as mine life extends to 2027, with rehabilitation planning and potential future phosphate development. FIFO roster 15/13 supports Cairns as the hire point.

Qualifications

• Experience in the resources sector (mining/oil & gas) in OHS
• Qualification in OHS or related discipline
• Experience with incident investigations, risk management, inspections, and safety systems
• Emergency response, mines rescue or emergency management experience
• Strong communication, organisation and administration skills
• Current C Class Driver Licence

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day OHS&T support across the operation
• Support incident, hazard and near-miss reporting and investigations
• Assist with risk assessments, inspections, audits and safety meetings
• Work with leaders, employees and contractors to improve safe work practices
• Review Job Hazard Analyses, procedures and safety documentation
• Maintain safety, training, emergency management and compliance records
• Coordinate corrective actions, inspections and audit findings
• Support site emergency preparedness, response arrangements and exercises
• Provide leadership within the Emergency Response Team
• Coordinate emergency response equipment inspections and readiness
