Job summary

Macmahon, a leading mining and civil contractor, is seeking a Payroll Officer based at the head office in Perth. You will support accurate and compliant payroll outcomes across the business, working within a collaborative team to engage with stakeholders for a positive employee experience.

You will bring at least two years of mining payroll experience, strong numeracy, and proficiency with payroll systems (Chris21 desired).

Qualifications

• Minimum two years payroll experience within the mining or a similar industry.
• Excellent numeracy skills with high accuracy and attention to detail.
• Experience using payroll systems – Chris21 is desirable.
• Strong working knowledge of the MS suite (MS Office).
• Capability to interpret awards, enterprise agreements and relevant legislation.
• Commitment to teamwork and delivering high-quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end payroll processing in accordance with legislative requirements and internal policies.
• Ensuring salary disbursements are accurate and delivered within required timeframes.
• Managing overpayments, recoveries, leave administration and payroll reporting.
• Interpreting awards, enterprise agreements and relevant legislation.
• Supporting audits, reconciliations and payroll-related queries.
• Identifying opportunities to improve payroll processes and procedures.

About the Role

As a Payroll Officer, you will support the delivery of accurate and compliant payroll outcomes across the business. Working as part of a collaborative team, you will engage with stakeholders to help ensure positive experience for people and projects.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end payroll processing in accordance with legislative requirements and internal policies
• Ensuring salary disbursements are accurate and delivered within required timeframes

• Identifying and implementing opportunities to improve payroll processed and procedures

What You’ll Bring

• A minimum of two year’s payroll experience within the mining or a similar industry
• Excellent numeracy skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Experience using payroll systems – Chris 21 experience will be desirable but not mandatory
• Strong working knowledge of the MS suite.
• Confidence in interpreting awards, enterprise agreements and relevant legislation.
• Commitment to teamwork and delivery of high-quality outcomes
• Location: Macmahon Head Office – Perth (Near T2)
• Roster: 5:2/Monday to Friday
