Job summary

NSW Department of Communities and Justice is seeking a Services and Programs Officer in Cooma and Nowra to support offenders through assessments, case planning and rehabilitation programs aimed at reducing re-offending and promoting safer communities.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team delivering group programs, crisis responses and connecting individuals with necessary services for successful reintegration.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of factors affecting offenders and families.
• Experience in assessment, case management and interventions for complex welfare needs.
• Experience delivering group-based interventions.
• Knowledge of alcohol and other drug dependence and evidence-based interventions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments and case management for offenders and remandees.
• Deliver individual and group interventions and evidence-based programs.
• Support reintegration and life-skill development to reduce re-offending.
