Job summary

NSW Department of Communities and Justice invites applications for a Services and Programs Officer located in Cooma (and Nowra). This ongoing and temporary full-time role supports offenders through assessment, case planning, crisis intervention and rehabilitation programs to reduce re-offending and promote positive outcomes.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team delivering group programs, respond to crises, and help offenders address challenges, build life skills and reintegrate into the

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in social work, psychology, mental-health or other human service fields; and /or demonstrated relevant equivalent experience working with family, social and / or drug and alcohol related issues.
• Current Certificate IV in Correctional Practice with the necessary Units of Competency for this role or capacity to complete Certificate IV in Correctional Practice in accordance with specified CSNSW timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Assessments and case management to support offenders.
• Deliver group interventions and crisis response.
• Contribute to rehabilitative programs and reintegration efforts to reduce re-offending.
