Job summary

Portland District Health (PDH) in Victoria is seeking a Grade 3 Occupational Therapist to join the Allied Health team on an ongoing part-time basis (48 hours per fortnight). You will deliver evidence-based OT services across acute, subacute, outpatient, aged care and community settings, and provide supervision and mentorship to junior staff and students.

An exciting and rewarding opportunity is available for a suitably qualified Occupational Therapist to join the Allied Health team at Portland District Health.

The Grade 3 Occupational Therapist is responsible for the provision of Occupational Therapy within a designated clinical case load providing evidence-based occupational therapy services across the acute, subacute, outpatient, aged care, and community-based settings within Portland District Health. You support the development of clinical and leadership skills in staff placed under your responsibility such as junior occupational therapy staff, allied health assistants and occupational therapy students.

You contribute to the quality, safety and risk management programs for the clinical unit/department You contribute to an environment that is conducive to deliver the four quality goals which are focused on putting the consumer first in everything we do.

About you:

• Occupational Therapist with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency and holds a current registration.
• At least 7 years’ experience relevant to Occupational Therapy in an Inpatient / Outpatient setting and a demonstrated high level of contemporary practice and principles and evidenced based models for Inpatient / Outpatient Occupational Therapy Service delivery.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe consumer focused care, providing a high level of specialist knowledge.
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with highly developed skills in organisation, time management, planning and priority setting.
• Current registration with SWEP (Statewide Equipment Program) prescriber and or geat2go

Portland District Health (PDH) provides an integrated health service for the community. The hospital was established in 1856 on the current site and now provides a comprehensive range of services that include:
