Job summary

Portland District Health is seeking an Administration Officer - Service Provision for the Community Aged Care Services team. The fixed term, part-time role will support health care workers and coordinate services to assist clients to remain at home under CHSP guidelines.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, demonstrate strong communication and ICT skills, and contribute to person-centred care with a focus on delivery of high-quality community-based services.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Business Administration is required.
• Demonstrated ability to practice collaboratively and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary health care team.
• Knowledge, skills, and experience in the delivery of duties to support clients within the community.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, written, verbal and ICT skills.

Responsibilities

ADMINISTRATION OFFICER - SERVICE PROVISION

Fixed Term Part Time – 40 hours per fortnight

Available from 28th September 2026 to 28th March 2027

An exciting and rewarding opportunity is available for a suitably qualified candidate to join the Community Aged Care Services team at Portland District Health.

You will provide guidance, supervision, and support for Health Care Workers in the provision of high-quality services to clients in accordance with the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) and other funded community based aged care program. You will assist older people and their carers by providing appropriate services to maintain well-being. Assist in the provision of a Community Aged Cares service to support clients to remain in their own homes, which supports recipients and is designed to safely keep these persons in their homes, through the performance of household tasks as assessed.

About you:

• Certificate III in Business Administration
• Demonstrated ability to practice collaboratively and work effectively as part of multidisciplinary health care team.
• Knowledge, skills, and experience in the delivery of duties to support clients within the community.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, written, verbal and ICT skills.
• Understands and embodies person centred care in practice skills that align registration requirements & PDH frameworks, policy, and procedures.
• Demonstrated understanding of the needs, issues, and sensitivities of people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to focus on delivering friendly, courteous, and respectful service to patients and residents.
• Previous experience working in hospital, community care, or residential aged care setting - desirable
• Certificate III or Certificate IV in Aged Care, from an Australian registered training organisation or recognised equivalent qualification - desirable

Portland District Health (PDH) provides an integrated health service for the community. The hospital was established in 1856 on the current site and now provides a comprehensive range of services that include:

PDH delivers services from a single campus, employs around 470 staff with an FTE of approximately 290, and has an active volunteer workforce. The People and Culture Unit sits within the Corporate Services Directorate, with other Units including Finance, Building Services, Food Services, Environmental Services, Executive Support, Administration and Health Information.
