Job summary

St John of God Ballarat Hospital is seeking an Occupational Therapist (Grade 1 or 2) to join a small, collaborative Allied Health team. The role offers rotations across rehabilitation, orthopaedics, surgical, general medicine, oncology and ICU, delivering high-quality OT to inpatients and outpatients.

This permanent full-time position provides a 38-hour week with shifts from 7.30am/8.00am to 3.30pm/4.00pm, and access to mentoring and supervision.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy (OT)
• Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
• Current valid driver’s licence

• Deliver high-quality occupational therapy to inpatients and outpatients.
• Complete holistic assessments across functional, cognitive and physical domains.
• Develop and deliver tailored treatment programs to maximise independence.
• Assess and coordinate equipment and aids to support return to daily life.
• Work closely with medical, nursing and multidisciplinary Allied Health teams.
• Build clinical capability through exposure to a diverse caseload and multiple areas of practice.

The opportunity

In this role, you will:

• Deliver high-quality occupational therapy to both inpatients and outpatients , working with individuals and groups.

• Complete holistic assessments across functional, cognitive and physical domains, including personal care, domestic and community activities of daily living.

• Develop and deliver tailored treatment programs that support each patient's individual goals and maximise their independence.

• Assess and coordinate appropriate equipment and aids to support patients in their return to everyday life.

• Work closely with medical, nursing and multidisciplinary Allied Health teams to deliver patient-centred care.

• Build your clinical capability through exposure to a diverse caseload and multiple areas of practice.

What you'll bring

You'll have a sound understanding of occupational therapy assessment, treatment and evaluation, along with strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who is curious, collaborative and passionate about helping people regain independence and achieve meaningful outcomes.

Successful applicants will have a tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy, registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a current valid driver's licence.

• Salary Grade 1-2: $70,866 to $114,129 plus 12% Superannuation
