Job description

Looking for a role where you feel genuinely supported, valued and able to grow?

At Healthcore, we believe that supporting our therapists is just as important as supporting our clients. Following our continued growth in South Australia, we’ve recently expanded into Queensland, commencing Occupational Therapy services in Townsville and surrounding areas. We’re now looking for another Occupational Therapist to join our growing team!

You’ll work alongside our Townsville-based Clinical Lead, Occupational Therapy, while being part of an established team of experienced OTs. This means you’ll have local, hands‑on clinical support, as well as access to the collective knowledge, experience, collaboration and support of our broader OT team.

Whether you’re an early‑career OT looking for guidance and opportunities to develop your skills, or an experienced clinician seeking greater autonomy, flexibility and professional satisfaction, we’d love to hear from you.

We’re offering both full‑time and part‑time opportunities, with flexible working arrangements to help you achieve the right balance between your professional and personal life.

Why Join Healthcore?

We’ve worked hard to create a workplace where our therapists can focus on providing great clinical care, feel supported in their work and continue developing their skills and interests.

Here’s what you can expect:

Genuine, local clinical support and a team behind you

Benefit from regular individual workflow meetings, clinical supervision and mentoring with our Townsville-based OT Clinical Lead, alongside opportunities for peer collaboration and ongoing support from our experienced OT team, Clinical Manager, Occupational Therapy and broader Clinical Leadership Team.

A caseload that suits you

Wherever possible, we match clients to your clinical interests, experience and career goals, rather than taking a one‑size‑fits‑all approach focused solely on KPIs.

Less administration, more clinical time

Our dedicated Administration and Intake Team manages appointment scheduling, referrals and service agreements, allowing you to focus on your clients.

Full‑time or part‑time flexibility

Enjoy flexible working arrangements, with opportunities to combine community‑based appointments, telehealth and working from home, where appropriate.

Competitive remuneration and bonus opportunities

$90,000 – $115,000 + superannuation, depending on your skills and experience. Remuneration and bonus entitlements are negotiated and are pro rata for part‑time employees.

Professional development

Receive up to $1,000 annually towards external professional development, alongside regular clinical supervision, structured team meetings and peer collaboration. The PD allowance is calculated pro rata for part‑time employees.

Career progression

Opportunities to develop professionally and take on additional responsibilities as our services continue to grow.

A supportive team culture

Be part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary organisation that values communication, wellbeing and supporting one another.

About Healthcore

Healthcore is a well established family‑owned allied health provider delivering person‑centred services across disability, aged care and community settings, supporting clients funded through the NDIS, Support at Home, Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA), private fee for service and other funding arrangements.

With an established team of experienced Occupational Therapists, alongside Physiotherapists, Speech Pathologists and Dietitians, we’re proud of the collaborative environment and strong clinical leadership we’ve developed.

Following our success in South Australia, we’re continuing to grow our services in Townsville, providing an opportunity for clinicians to join an established organisation while contributing to the development of our Queensland team.

We’re passionate about delivering meaningful, high‑quality therapy and creating an environment where our clinicians feel valued, supported and empowered to do their best work.

About the Role

As an Occupational Therapist at Healthcore, you’ll provide community‑based Occupational Therapy services to clients across Townsville and surrounding areas, supporting them to achieve greater independence, participate in everyday activities and improve their quality of life.

We support children and adults with a diverse range of needs, and your caseload will be developed with consideration of your clinical experience, interests and professional goals.

Depending on your experience and clinical interests, your work may include:

  • Functional Capacity Assessments and NDIS reporting
  • Assistive Technology assessments and recommendations
  • Home and Living assessments and home modifications
  • Individualised therapy and capacity‑building interventions
  • Collaborating with clients, families, support coordinators and other allied health professionals
  • Preparing high‑quality clinical documentation and reports

You’ll enjoy the autonomy and flexibility of community‑based Occupational Therapy while having access to local clinical guidance and the support of our broader team.

About You
  • A recognised tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy and current AHPRA registration
  • Strong clinical reasoning, assessment and communication skills
  • The ability to work independently while enjoying the benefits of a supportive team
  • A willingness to continue learning and developing your clinical skills
  • A current driver’s licence, access to a reliable vehicle and appropriate motor vehicle insurance
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, Working with Children Check (Queensland Blue Card, where required) and National Police Clearance, or willingness to obtain these prior to commencing employment
  • Experience working with NDIS participants, in aged care or in community‑based Occupational Therapy would be beneficial but is not essential.

Above all, we’re looking for someone who genuinely enjoys helping people, takes pride in delivering quality clinical care and values being part of a supportive, collaborative team.

Interested? We’d love to hear from you.

We appreciate that finding the right workplace is about more than just salary. It’s about feeling supported, enjoying your work and having opportunities to develop your career.

Whether you’re actively looking for a new opportunity or simply curious about what Healthcore has to offer, we’d welcome an informal and confidential conversation.
